Sitting, Eating and a Garden

March has been a busy month for us. We've been practicing sitting with Benson. Usually we sit him on the bed so that when he face-plants, he doesn't get hurt. He's really good at it but prefers to stand so when I sit him down he'll sit for a minute, smile up at me and slowly fall over. I try telling him not to fall over and he knows what I'm saying, hence the smile. It's pretty cute.

Although Bens is almost 5 months we didn't start feeding him solids until yesterday (trying to feed him solids). I wanted to wait until we had a highchair before starting, and it came yesterday. It was a joke, really. As I put the cereal in his mouth it just sat there. He had no clue what to do with it. So I then start chewing, to show him and then I even moved his mouth up and down, trying to help him. What did he do...started laughing. He thought it was so funny. I tried again today and it went a little better, maybe. Lots of people have told me what he's doing is not uncommon so I'm not concerned. Besides it's fun.

Since we bought our house in October I've been so excited to start a garden. One of the great things about living in Corpus is that they have 2 growing seasons! We were supposed to get everything planted in February but it didn't happen. It happened last Saturday. We didn't plant a lot of stuff but are excited with what we did (tomatoes, green peppers, basil, squash, arugula, and strawberries). Hopefully some of it will be successful!
