Ode to Chaco's

My footwear of choice are my green strappy chacos. I love them! As soon as the snowdrifts are down to my ankles in the spring I bring them out and wear them well into November and December. I discovered them about 5 years ago when my roommate at USU splurged on a pair. She wore them daily and I was soon hooked (it's a good thing her feet were a size 5 or I would have borrowed them). It took me 2 years before I purchased my first pair b/c they run from $80-110. I have loved them ever since. One of my most favorite aspects of this footwear is the tan line. I'm a bit obsessed about it. For those that know me, I wear SPF 40 every time I'm in the sun, I've recently purchased a hat (I don't wear hats, I look awful in them) to help protect my face from the rays but will put all my efforts into deepening my chaco tan. I know, my feet are going to end up with skin cancer and leathery, but I don't care, I love it my tan lines!! Although some call it a status symbol of being ultra outdoorsy or highly sexy, I don't consider my self a granola hiker or all that sexy but I am a die hard in making sure my feet are absorbing the rays.

The Advetures of Lyn

I know it's been almost 6 months since I last blogged but now I'm going to try to blog more often, like once every 3 months;)

This summer has been great, so many fun little trips. In June I hiked Havasupi, in July a family reunion on an island on the Puget Sound, and August a family reunion up at Bear Lake and staying at the guard station up in Vernal. The best part of my summer has been seeing all my family with Michelle and her girls, Shawn and Bekah here from Arkansas, and others at family reunions. I did almost die during a few of these adventures but obviously I made it. I've started getting ready for school, which starts on the 29th. I'm only teaching 2 different subjects and only 7th and 8th graders. I'm sad about not having the 9th graders but the work load will be great! I always start having nightmares the 2 weeks previously to school starting. The ones where the classroom is full and I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with these kids. Or the one where I'm somewhere else and all the sudden I realize I should be teaching. It's awful. Does anyone else have these nightmares??

So actually I forgot how to log into my blog, really that's the excuse for not updating. But Sara was kind enough to figure it out for me. She's so nice!

I have an 8 pg paper to write and have only written 3 paragraphs. (I need to just get to work and stop procrastinating.) But I'm confident I will prevail and accomplish the task before me.

At our Relief Society Birthday Party last night a friend came over to show all of us "white folks" her tan from spending a week playing volleyball on the beaches of Mexico and I spoke up and said she would not for long hold the title of the tannest b/c I would rival it as soon as I returned from my Spring Break Vacation. Everyone waited in anticipation for the destination to be revealed. I didn't keep them waiting long...ARKANSAS! I'm pretty sure they were all jealous. It may not seem exotic but I couldn't be happier if I was twins to be going. I'll take my camera and post some pictures upon my return.

Helping Lynette

This is Sara Anne. I'm just testing this to help Lynette figure out how this all works. She's doing great! Pretty stressed by all the papers that she has to write for her Master's program but I must say she's doing quite well with them. Lynette should be posting in the future!
