Sharpened Pencils and Glue

Today was the first day of school. I love the first day of school.
I love all the new school supplies (pencils, pens, binders, notebooks, glue, crayons, etc)
I love seeing all the Jr. High kids wearing new clothes.
I love seeing distraught 7th graders who didn't die on their first day, although some came close.
I love calming fears and helping those near tears.
I love hearing about how my returning students summer went.
I love "getting to know you" games.
I love how my students are excited about my class.
I love hearing that my little Hispanic Raul sewed all summer long so he'd get 100% on the first days' sewing test (which he did).
I love seeing the crowded halls with students rushing to their next class.
I love waving to the teachers across the hall and laughing about how funny Jr. High students are.
I love eating lunch in the faculty room were we have such a huge turn out that we'll have to have two potluck groups.
I love going shopping for new school clothes.
I love setting up my room (even though it's stressful).
I truly love being a teacher. Every once in awhile I forget but I love it when I remember!

(I have a lot to catch up on, post about, but that will happen at a later date.)

You are such a great teacher! I was just remembering one time when I was in tears at USU on my first day, and you helped me out! Thanks! I hope you have a great year!

Yep you are a good teacher! I love all those smells too. But so glad I am out those junior high days. But I agree it would be fun to be a teacher and look at it from that perspective. I MISS YOU LYNETTE!!!! MY FSB, I am bored with outcha. I am keeping up on my sewing skills though.
